Wendy Buchanan, AAMS®, AWMA®

Wendy Buchanan has more than 38 years of experience in the financial services industry. In addition to holding the appropriate securities registrations and insurance licenses, she has earned the professional designations of Accredited Asset Management Specialist (AAMS®) and Accredited Wealth Management Advisor (AWMA®). Her areas of focus include investment management, retirement planning, insurance strategies, tax-efficient investing, and comprehensive wealth planning for individuals, families, and business owners.

Wendy works closely with her clients to help them understand their investments and make informed financial decisions. She develops personalized strategies designed to help clients pursue their financial goals and has guided individuals and families through complex financial decisions with clarity, confidence, and commitment to long-term stewardship. She also collaborates with CPAs and attorneys to help ensure her clients’ financial, tax, and estate planning strategies work together to support their unique goals.

Recognized among a select group of Financial Advisors within Wells Fargo Advisors, Wendy earned the Platinum Council distinction from 2008–2025 while she was with FiNet. This recognition was awarded based on a combination of educational achievements, business production, professionalism, best practices, and team structure. After spending 20 years with Edward Jones and 18 years with Wells Fargo Advisors, Wendy founded Buchanan Wealth Management to continue serving clients with an independent, relationship-focused approach.

Wendy and her high school sweetheart, Mike, have been married for more than 41 years. They are members of First Baptist Church of Nacogdoches and are actively involved in their community. Wendy currently serves as President of the Nacogdoches Area United Way and is a former member of the Stephen F. Austin State University Foundation Board of Trustees. She also served on the Stephen F. Austin State University Alumni Association Board from 2005 to 2013 and is currently serving another term. Wendy is a past president of both the Kiwanis Club and the Nacogdoches High School Alumni Association. She has established endowed scholarships at both Stephen F. Austin State University and Nacogdoches High School.

Today, Wendy continues to help individuals, families, and business owners navigate life’s financial decisions with confidence. She believes financial planning is about more than managing investments - it is about understanding what matters most to each client and creating a thoughtful plan to help them pursue their goals, protect what they’ve built, and leave a lasting legacy.
